Michelle Schodowski

Michelle Schodowski shares the journey of her business idea to combine online technology and music that musicians will have the opportunity to earn a side income.

Regarded as a pianist of “exceptional sensitivity and natural musicality,” Michelle Schodowski has been honing her craft since the tender age of five. For Michelle, classical music has been an outlet of emotional and intellectual complexities and the perfect medium through which to convey the subtleties of the human mind that cannot be communicated with words alone. Unlike language, it has the ability to reach every person regardless of their age, nationality, or life experience.

Throughout her experience as a performer, Michelle’s most rewarding performances have been accompanied by teary-eyed receptions. Many of these performances happened at public recitals and retirement homes where she frequently volunteered, but Michelle has been able to evoke the same type of responses from judges in competitions throughout Tennessee and Canada where she was awarded top prizes. Among these prizes were 1st Place in the Division I Bristol Music Club Competition; 1st Place in the UT Chattanooga Piano Competition; 2nd Place in the Tennessee Tech University Piano Competition; and Honorable Mention in the St. Andrews International Piano Competition.

She has also traveled nationally and abroad to various festivals to expand her musical knowledge and understanding through private instruction and collaboration. Some festivals in the United States include the Heartland Chamber Music Festival where she performed both of Dohnanyi’s Piano Quintets, Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival, and Brevard Music Center where Michelle found the inspiration to devote her life to the piano. MusicFest Perugia in Italy and St. Andrews Piano Academy and Festival in Canada were among the selective international festivals that Michelle attended to perform solo repertoire as well as Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto in C Major.

Michelle’s private teachers prior to high school include Dr. Chih-Long Hu at University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Alexander Peskanov, and Carol Stone. She received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the University of North Texas in Spring 2018 under the tutelage of the internationally renowned Polish-born pianist, recording artist and pedagogue, Adam Wodnicki. Additionally, she received her Master of Business Administration in Business Management in Spring 2019 from the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas.

Guided by her background in Piano Pedagogy and Performance, she currently maintains a studio of 15 piano students and is the CEO and Founder of the music ed-tech company, Radda. Radda is a new and growing online company that connects music students with experts around the world who personally critique their compositions and performances. As of December 2019, the platform has 69 Reviewers from varying backgrounds, locations, and schools worldwide, including professors from the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Berklee College of Music, University of North Texas, New England Conservatory, and many others.
