WHAT TRAINING / EDUCATION HAVE YOU COMPLETED? AT WHAT AGE DID YOU DECIDE THAT YOU WANT TO BE A MUSICIAN? WHY?
I attended the “D. Cimarosa” State Music Conservatory in Avellino, Italy. I graduated two times, with 110 cum Laude and a special mention with laude. I didn’t decide that I had to become a musician, I always sang since I was a child and I started to study singing in middle school when my music teacher told me that I had a natural setting for opera singing.
HOW DOES YOUR MUSIC CAREER USE YOUR SKILLS AND TALENTS? WHAT NEW SKILLS HAVE YOU LEARNED IN THE LAST YEAR?
I try to take advantage of every feature of my vocality, so I work on opera roles but also on chamber music, film music, sacred music..and they are constantly evolving, also because the voice changes with us and every time we overcome a limit, we move it further, and we work to overcome that too. In the last year, I have participated as a guest in some online radio/tv broadcasts, it has been very interesting to be able to talk about the classic aspect of music and singing! I am currently recording the songs with my friends and colleagues to face this period, and I continue to study the roles and the new repertoire.
WHAT CAREER SUCCESSES ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF HAVEING ACCOMPLISHED? WHOM WOULD YOU LIKE TO GIVE THANKS TO?
I am quite satisfied with every step I’ve taken. I am happy to have sung for the Pavarotti Foundation and thanks to them I sang in Beijing, in Paris, together with Daniela Dessì and Fabio Armiliato for the Pavarotti Prize dedicated to them. I am happy because I sang at the San Carlo Theater in Naples which is the oldest in the world; I am proud to have sung with Maestro Riccardo Muti, also on TV on Rai. Before this pandemic state came, there was still a work planned with the Maestro.
I thank my parents first of all who have always helped, both economically and morally, my singing teachers and Mrs. Cristina Mazzavillani Muti who is a guide for me, and then I thank those who love me and who are close to me every time. And a little thank me too because, despite the passing of time, I keep the childish spirit that helps me to see always the colors!
